I'm a big fan of big-screen televisions. I'm also notorious for jumping out there when something new comes on the market. I made that mistake when I bought my first big screen tv. The new 61 inch DLP tv's were out and I just had to have one. The prices were outrageous but at the time it seemed a worthwhile expense, especially for someone like me who is such a huge television fan. I paid $3699 for what I thought was going to be an awesome tv. Well, as fate, and my luck would have it, this tv was plagued with problems. By the time I dumped this set (in only three years) I had over $6000 invested. Tough lesson, but I did learn some things. First, always wait a couple of years before spending big bucks on a new product and second, I need to keep reminding myself that the prices will come down and the bugs will be worked out. My friend waited as she watched me blowing money then she went out and bought a samsung 61 inch LCD and was so happy! she got it for a great price and hasn't had a single problem wiith it. I guess the biggest lesson here is that I need to learn to be patient.
